The first tale of Ethanar
Aneira has been wandering the lands since her tribe vanished, eight years ago. One day she hopes to find them and get back to a normal life. In the mean time she has to make the most of any help she’s offered along the road, but she isn’t prepared for what might happen when she decides to help back, or when she’s prevented from running away.
This is a short fantasy story of one girls only desire – to belong.

Wandering to Belong Tales of Ethanar Book 1 eBook Jess Mountifield Reviews
I liked this sample, but it wasn't much. Wanted to continue with the story, but no cash to buy more (
I was given this book by the author in return for an honest review.
This was a fantastic tale, although a short story.
I loved how Aneira felt she needed to rescue the villager's after they had been so warm and welcoming to her!
With a horde of evil goblins to get rid of, will she achieve it???
The twist in this tale is the dragon and what side he will take.
The ending was a surprise but extremely good.
What surprises me most was that this is the 6th book I have read by this author and yet she never ceases to amaze me, she always makes you feel like you're right there in the book!!!
I can't wait to see what she writes next!!!!
I enjoyed the tale and will read the next. It is about what all of us dream of.
Thank you.
According to some of the other reviews, I am in a minority with my review. I think I understand the author's premise of the "Tales of Ethanar". She imagined this fantasy country with different magical creatures and begins to tell some of their stories. I read the first 3 stories and enjoyed them. After finishing Lisa's story, I felt let down. Story 1 had no ending to speak of... Story 2 ended wonkie... Story 3 ended abruptly... No desire to buy Story 4. What there is of each of these young lady's stories is interesting but I read for entertainment. Maybe the author is too cerebral for me. Even though each of the young ladies seemingly found what they needed... their stories were like being hungry for a hot fudge sundae and you find out the only ingredient you have is the ice cream... They just didn't satisfy.
Loved it. A story about someone looking for their home, and the adventure on her way to find it. Its got everything you could want. A town terrified, a horde of goblins ready to attack, and dragons.
You'll enjoy this story. It's a fun read, with a good deal of action, and even more human pathos. Mountifield has reimagined the space of fantasy epic in miniature in this story in an intriguing new way. I found myself hoping there'd be a sequel, or perhaps another way to enter this story-space.
In between work, spy novels, and studying for the LSATs, I like to have some books that just let my mind take a break for a little while. Wandering to Belong did that for me. Before this book, it had been a while since I read anything with dragons and goblins and I figured this would be a fun, light read. It definitely was. This was a well-written short book that I read in a few short breaks at work. I recommend it to anyone who wants to take a break from what's going on around them for a while. I also have to add that the cover looks amazing.
